MEDIA, Pa. – The Williamson College of the Trades soccer team had an impressive home debut, coming away with a 7-1 victory against Penn State Hazleton on Tuesday evening.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Five different players scored for the Mechanics. Ryan Armstrong, Matthew Burget, Marcos Karasavas (twice), Triston Seales and Rob Wagner (twice) all found the back of the net for Williamson.
- Seales had two assists to accumulate a four-point day. Wagner and James Bryan each had a helper.
- WT had an 11-3 advantage in shots on goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Williamson got on the board with the initial tally of the match in the 12th minute as Karasavas took a feed from Seales and sprinted down the right side, passing his defender and beating the keeper to the right side.
- The lead doubled 10 minutes later as Bryan delivered a free kick over the top that Seales ran on to and deposited in the back of the net.
- Opening the second half, Williamson scored 34 seconds apart to extend the lead. Wagner tallied the first goal out of a scrum in front the net. On the second tally, Seales sent a ball across the goal from the right side. Burget was on the connecting end of the feed and sent it past the keeper, making it 4-0.
- Penn State Hazleton got on the board on a corner kick in the 66th minute.
- It was a pair of quick goals again that salted the contest for the Mechanics. Karasavas recorded his second of the night off a free kick from Wagner. 16 seconds later, Armstrong pounced on a rebound and headed it home. Closing the scoring, Wagner recorded his brace with a strike from distance in the 83rd minute.

The Mechanics are back in action on Tuesday, September 16 when they travel to Enola, Pa to face off against Central Penn. Opening tap is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
