FRONT ROYAL, Va. - The Williamson College of the Trades soccer team used an offensive outburst with three second half goals as the Mechanics downed the Christendom Crusaders, 5-3 in an ESAC match on Saturday afternoon.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Marcos Karasavas and Triston Seales each had a pair of goals for Williamson.
- Owen Murnin-Papurt also scored.
- Murnin-Papurt added an assist. Dylan Beaver and Ian Farnan also had helpers
- Aaron O'Keeffe made several second half saves to help preserve the victory and totaled 11 stops for the match.
- The win moves the Mechanics to 1-0 in Eastern States Athletic Conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Following an eight-goal effort a season ago, Karasavas opened the scoring for Williamson with a PK goal in the seventh minute.
- After the Crusaders tied it, the Mechanics went back on top as Murnin-Papurt tied the score off a feed from Farnan.
- Christendom found the back of the net once more before the break, taking a 3-2 lead nto halftime.
- Seales tied the match with his first goal in the 56th minute. Murnin-Papurt contributed an assist.
- With 10 minutes remaining, Karasavas struck for the eventual game-winner off a service from Beaver.
- Seales helped to salt the match away late as he came down the left side and beat the keeper 1v1.

Williamson returns to action for its home opener on Tuesday, September 9 against Penn State Hazleton. Opening tap is set for 6:30 p.m.
