Conroy Scores Game Winner, Dickinson Scores 100th Career Goal
Cooper Conroy scored the game winning goal in the fourth quarter and Matt Dickinson scored his 100th career goal to lead Williamson to a hard fought 8-6 win over host Mercer County College on Wednesday night.
Williamson raced out to a 5-2 lead early in the game and held a 5-3 lead at halftime. Mercer would pull to within 6-5 at the end of the third quarter and would then tie things up in the fourth quarter at 6-6 before Cooper Conroy would net the eventual game winning goal for Williamson to put them up 7-6. Chase Staley would then tack on a goal late to make the final 8-6 in favor of the Mechanics.
Williamson senior Matt Dickinson scored his 100th career goal during the game and later added another to bring his career total to 100 to date. This coming despite being injured for much of this season.
Conroy and Dickinson both lead Williamson on the night with two goal and one assist each, while Staley had a goal and two assists. Anthony Zollo had a goal and an assist to lead the way for the team. Jack Welsh added ten saves.
The win is the third in a row for Williamson and moves them to 7-3 on the year. They next host Drexel University at 12:00 P.M. on Sunday for Senior Day.
