Football Upended in Defensive Battle with Stevens
MEDIA, Pa. - The Williamson College of the Trades football team held the Thaddeus Stevens Bulldogs to under 200 yards of offense, but the Mechanics were downed in a defensive battle, 21-6 on Saturday afternoon.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Williamson had its best passing game of the season, throwing for 141 yards with one touchdown.
- Cameron Shirvinsky went 4-for-7 for 58 yards and a score.
- Nadir Ali was the leading receiver witgh four catches for 60 yards.
- Nathan Barnshaw had two grabs for 53 yards and a TD. Asher Wiser hailed in three passes for 28 yards.
- Ryan Creegan led WT with six tackles on the day, all solo.
- Dominick Gallo, Kasean Chambers and Jude Van Auken each made five stops. Gallo also had a sack.
- The Mechanics had reight tackles for loss as a team.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two squads were scoreless through the first quarter before Stevens posted the first score of the match three minutes into the second quarter.
- Stevens scored once more in the second and once in the third.
- Williamson got on the board late as on 2nd-and-10 near midfield, Barnshaw corralled a pass from Shirvinsky for a 49-yard TD
