Cross Country Impresses at United East Preview
MEDIA, Pa. – Chase Ely crossed the finish line first and the Williamson College of the Trades cross country team continued to impress in the early season, finishing third of 12 team at the United East Preview on Friday.
Ely ran away from the field in the 8k race, finishing in a time of 27:05.11, winning by more than 74 second against the nearest competitor. Bryan Hernandez also finished in the top-10 of the 99 runner field with his eighth place time of 29:40.50.
Conan DeBruyn placed 23rd, clocking in at 32:36.05. Also finishing in the top-third of the race were Mark Carellas and Joseph Gambrill who were 32nd and 33rd with times of 33:25.13 and 33.32.37, respectively.
Next up for the Mechanics is the Penn State Abington Invitational on Saturday, September 20. The race is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m.
